Sacrifice & Courage:
A Tribute to D-Day
The Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Foundation, in partnership with the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center, will co-produce an onsite event featuring both military leaders and best-selling authors to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the D-Day allied invasion of Europe. Moderated by Dean Karayanis, host of the "History Author Show," this event will explore the human and emotional aspects of D-Day, roles played by Bob Feller and Yogi Berra while serving in the Navy, and how both men exemplify the foundation's core pillars of citizenship, service above self, and commitment to country in times of great national need.
With the help of the Defense Media Activity (DMA), this event will be presented live at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center in Montclair, NJ, and simulcast to an audience of active duty military personnel and baseball followers around the world. Using state-of-the-art Virtual Conference technology by Leading Edge Training Solutions, LLC, a simulcast edition will follow as part of our University Speaker Series and will include; a virtual theater, chat room, exhibit hall and additional videos and still photography that military and baseball historians are sure to love.
