New Scholarship Program for 2023
Applications must be received by October 1, 2023.
The Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Foundation, through the unique intersection of baseball and the US Navy, recognizes and honors those who support our nation’s service and uses the Bob Feller story to educate the youth of today on the lessons of citizenship, service to country and sacrifice in times of great national need.

The foundation’s ongoing mission is to acknowledge and support the sacrifices made by service members, veterans and their families. As part of this commitment, the foundation will provide financial support for students, service members, veterans and their spouses.

The Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Foundation has provided tuition assistance in scholarships and academic awards to deserving veterans and students of military families totaling over $36,000 since 2020.
Who Can apply?
For Students of Military Families
We are excited to announce for 2023 that in a addition to students that have a parent actively serving, we will now accept applications for students for all Veterans!
To be eligible for the scholarship under this program you must be currently enrolled in a nationally or regionally Accredited College, University or Technical/Vocational school on a full-time basis and on a successful graduation track towards a vocational/technical, associates, bachelor's, or graduate degree.
Eligibility requirements are as follows:

A parent with an honorable discharge and a DD-214 that served with the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or in the National Guard or Reserve Component.

Parent currently serving with the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, or in the National Guard or Reserve Component.

Enrolled in an accredited U.S. High School or High School Equivalency/General Education Diploma Program

Will graduate with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average (g.p.a.) on a 4.0 scale

Submit essay of at least 500 words or create a short video on how you were inspired by the lessons learned from one of the 39 Hall of Famers and the four pillars of Citizenship, Service, Sacrifice, and Legacy to future generations. Examples of community service, letters of recommendations or certificates from community groups, clubs, and charity organizations for who you have supported in the last two years.

Special consideration will be given to students who demonstrate leadership or mentoring qualities through participation in extra-curricular or civic activities in school or their communities.
For Veterans / Service Members
To be eligible for the scholarship under this program you must currently be enrolled in a nationally or regionally Accredited College, University or Technical/Vocational school on a full time or part time basis. You must be on a successful graduation track towards a vocational/technical, associates, bachelor’s or graduate degree.
Eligibility requirements are as follows:​

Veteran with an honorable discharge or currently serving with the Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard or Reserve Component.

Graduated from an accredited U.S. High School or High School Equivalency/General Education Diploma Program with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average (g.p.a.) on a 4.0 scale from

Receive less than 100% VA Benefits toward higher education.
Provide a copy of the Financial Aid Package at the intended Institution

Attach documentation showing academic achievement through military or civilian education, participation in community service , honors and letters of appreciation and recommendations.

Consideration will be given to applicants who demonstrate leadership or mentoring qualities through participation in extra-curricular or civic activities in their communities.
Additional Requirements needed:
For Veterans:
Honorable discharge with a DD Form 214 or NGB-22 for National Guard or DD Form 256 for Reserves
For Service Members:
Valid current military ID
For Military Spouses
