Why is the Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Foundation offering a College Scholarship Program?
The Foundation believes that educating our youth is the best way to strengthen our country and society. With the cost of attending college and trade schools rapidly increasing, paying for higher education has become a larger burden for most military families. The Bob Feller Act of Valor Award is dedicated to advancing the educational narrative of our young people as an investment in America.

 

How will I be notified?
Scholarship Award recipients and their families will be notified of their award amount in writing by November 1, 2021 along with full details on the acknowledgement of their award at the Annual Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Ceremony in Washington DC.

 

Can I defer this scholarship?
Generally, this scholarship is non-deferrable. However, we are cognizant that in rare occasions emergency situations do arise. The Foundation will evaluate on a case to case basis to determine if the recipient may defer the scholarship.

Can I transfer this scholarship?
No. The scholarship is designed to be awarded to the recipient alone.

 

How does the money get paid?
Scholarship awards are paid directly to a school or institution that has been selected and submitted by the applicant in advance.

 

Can the money be used for technical or vocational schools?
Yes: The money can be used for any nationally or regionally accredited technical or vocational school which provides occupational training.

 

Can I apply the funds to a different school?
The funds for the scholarship are non-transferable to another institution unless the scholarship committee has approved the transferring institution and all required supporting documents have been approved.
