Fifth Annual Bob Feller Act of Valor Award Ceremony Honors Hall of Famer Tom Seaver, Baltimore Oriole Darren O’Day, Chief Petty Officer Edmundo Brantes, Training Support Center Great Lakes, Unmanned Patrol Squadron ONE NINE (VUP-19), and USMC Staff Sergeant Adam Plambeck at Navy Memorial on Thursday, November 16 in Washington, D.C.
Hall of Famer Tom Seaver, Darren O’Day of the Baltimore Orioles, and Chief Petty Officer Edmundo Brantes of the United States Navy will formally receive their awards.USMC Staff Sergeant Adam Plambeck is the recipient of the Jerry Coleman Award, which honors a Marine Noncommissioned Officer, and this year’s recipients of the Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Awards in the Afloat and Ashore categories are Training Support Center Great Lakes, Unmanned Patrol Squadron ONE NINE (VUP-19).
The ceremony will feature a unique gathering of special guests from baseball luminaries and from Navy leadership and will also honor the first ever “Military Children Award” for two children whose parents serve proudly in our United States Military. This year’s winners Nicholas and Shivanne Annand, the son and daughter of Naresh and Henrietta Annand from Chesapeake, Virginia, are scheduled to participate in the honoring of the award winners.

ABOUT: The Bob Feller Act of Valor Award was created by Peter Fertig with the support of the U.S. Navy, the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial, The Cleveland Indians, the Baseball Hall of Fame, the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association, and the gracious consent of Mrs. Anne Feller. The award, through the unique intersection of baseball and the US Navy, recognizes and honors those who reflect the values, integrity and dedication to serving our country which Bob Feller himself possessed.
